Welcome

This website is about a decade old. What you're reading and my resume are more or less the boundaries of change here. My public key is available here.

I graduated from UBC 2007 where I studied Artificial Intelligence before working as a software engineering consultant. I vacillated between research and industry, beginning with Aviation Research Corp before getting involved in biotech research with the Small Neural Systems Group of Dr. Catharine Rankin in the Brain Research Centre at UBC. There, I lead the development of machine vision software libre to aid in the study of behavioural, cellular and molecular mechanisms involved in learning and memory.

Since then, I have worked for Scrapboy Digital Media and Rocket Gaming Systems. I was later involved in enhancing the Virtual Computer Numerical Controller with assembly level hardware acceleration as a Software Project Engineer. I was then a Sessional Instructor with the Art Institute of Vancouver where I taught first year programming at a college academic level.

I am an active participant in the software libre community. I was among the DXX-Rebirth developers.

Today, I run a small software company where I focus my energies on a new project. I am also responsible for the VikingExtractor technology, a digital forensic archaelogical effort to recover NASA digital images taken on Mars in the late 1970s from the Viking Landers.

I am a philosopher, fallibilist, social activist, educator, writer, amateur tanguero, and raw vegan.
